The Club Committee has an active policy of bringing youth players who have reached a safe level of competence in to the adult teams, and we are proud of the fact that the current Saturday and Sunday 1st XI has at times many current and former youth players representing the Club.

Our Sunday 3rd team is a transition team for youths about to enter senior cricket we play a number of friendly games against other clubs in the area. We believe that this shows a commitment from the club to encourage the transition from youth to senior cricket in a struc-tured and well planned way.

We promote a friendly family style atmosphere and believe strongly that the Youth section is the life blood of the club and we recognize its importance to our future.

The Youth section currently enters teams at Under 11, Under 13, Under 14, Under 15 and Under 17 in the Medway Youth Cricket League. Matches in these leagues take place on a Friday evening (Under 11), Sunday morning (Under 13,14 and 15) and Tuesday evening for the Under 17. In 2013 we launched our Under 7’s cricket team, focusing on the next generation of cricketer and ensuring they all have fun when taking part.

Coaching takes place on various evenings at the ground and at local schools details can be obtained from the coaches. We are actively involved with local schools, the local Medway Council Sports Development team and the Kent Cricket Board.

We are pleased to say that the club is also Sport England Clubmark accredited and is a Focus Club in recognition for the work we do in the local community.

This confirms our commitment to cricket at all levels, but in particular to children of all ages. We are an all-inclusive club and welcome players from all social and ethnic backgrounds, irrespective of their cricket knowledge and ability.
